Our Story
What do you get when you mix a newly-retired high school drama teacher with unexpected amounts of newfound free time? To start, a lot of red wine consumed at two o'clock in the afternoon... but in short order, you get The B-List, New Jersey's newest improvisational comedy sensation.
Founded by drama instructor extraordinaire Marilyn Reich and a renegade band of former students from the Old Bridge Township Public School system, The B-List's shows are a unique mixture of improvisational theater games, music and multimedia content, sure to please any audience that is stocked heavily with members of our immediate families.
Our diverse group of performers includes award-winning screenwriters, dedicated drama educators and veterans of some of the New York area's most prestigious improvisation and sketch comedy troupes. Many of us have also been told that our personal hygiene is above reproach.
Our Name
Once she decided to form a comedy troupe, Marilyn sat down and prepared a list of potential members consisting of her funniest and most talented former students. Not surprisingly, all of those people were too busy, successful and well-adjusted to devote their time to an ill-conceived effort to recapture lost youth. Fortunately for Marilyn (and the comedy world on whole), she had another list of former students just in case the first one didn't work out: "The B-List."
